Animal Hospital Halloween Update: Halloween Coins and Skins

What the Animal Hospital Halloween update adds: Halloween Coins, how to earn them with candy and minigames, and the limited skins you can buy.

The Halloween update for Animal Hospital went live on October 17, 2026. After reading this you will know what it added, how Halloween Coins work, and how to earn them without wasting a shift. Details are as of October 2026, and limited events can change.

This is the first part of a two part Halloween release. The developers have said more surprises are coming in part 2, so treat this page as a snapshot of part 1.

What is new in the Halloween update

The patch notes, shared by the developers on the game's Discord and reported by Sportskeeda, list these changes:

  • A new event currency called Halloween Coins.
  • A new Halloween minigame, which is how you earn those coins.
  • New exclusive Halloween skins, with the developers saying more will come soon.
  • Halloween decorations in the lobby and in the hospital.
  • New achievements, which the fan wiki lists in the Journal.

Almost every class has received a Halloween-themed skin, so you will probably find something for the role you like to play. For other limited-time content, see our events page.

How Halloween Coins work

Halloween Coins are separate from the normal Animal Coins you already collect. You can only spend them on the Halloween skins.

The important rule is that they are temporary. The patch notes say the coins are removed when the event ends, so any coins you have left over at that point are lost. Spend them on the skins you want before the event finishes.

How to earn Halloween Coins

The coins come from the new trick-or-treat activity inside the hospital.

  1. Start a shift. The minigame begins on Shift 2 if the tutorial is switched on, and on Shift 1 if the tutorial is switched off.
  2. Watch for visitors in costumes. They ask for particular candy, for example candy corn, so check the request before handing anything over.
  3. Give each visitor the candy they asked for. Sportskeeda reports that a completed request pays 1 to 3 Halloween Coins.
  4. Keep an eye on the regular hospital work at the same time. The activity runs alongside your normal tasks, so it gets busy when you play alone.
  5. Finish the event hospital minigames too. Those pay Halloween Coins to the player who completes them.

Candy coins are shared: when someone gives candy to a visitor, every player in the hospital receives the coins. In a group, one person can look after the candy while the others cover the rest of the shift, and everybody still gains.

Be careful with costumed visitors. Not every one is harmless, and some can turn out to be anomalies, so keep checking what is happening around you instead of assuming a spooky outfit is just decoration. You can also buy Halloween Coins with Robux, but that is real money and you do not need it, because the coins can be earned by playing.

Halloween skins you can buy

Two independent sources list these skins as part of the event:

  • Spooky Intern
  • Werewolf Security
  • Ghost Secretary
  • Head Nurse Shark
  • Count Dracula, a Secret Agent skin

All of them are bought with Halloween Coins. Skins that only one source mentioned are left out here until they are confirmed.

Dates and what comes next

The update arrived on October 17, 2026. The fan wiki lists the next update for October 27, 2026, which lines up with the promised part 2, but update dates can move. The sources do not agree on when the event ends, so check the in-game event information for the final end date before you plan around it.

Quick checklist

  • Spend Halloween Coins before the event ends, because they disappear.
  • Play shifts with friends so the shared candy coins add up faster.
  • Check every costumed visitor before treating them as safe.
  • Come back after part 2 for new skins and other additions.
